Every thirty days Promise Keepr issues a statement of what you promised and what you actually did. It is generated from locked days, so nobody — including us — can make it say something nicer than the truth.
You get it by message. What happens next is entirely yours. Most people keep it. Some send it to one person. A few post it, and that is genuinely how most of our members hear about us.

How to read one
Four numbers, and only one of them is about being perfect.
KEPT
Promise-days you did the thing. This one goes up and down with your life and it is supposed to.
OWNED
Days you did not do it and said so. Neutral. Not a failure count. A significant number of owned days is a sign the promise needs resizing, which is your Keeper's job, not yours.
HIDDEN
Days that locked without a seal. The only line on the Receipt that is actually bad news, and the only one your Keeper will chase you about.
WORD RATE
Kept plus owned, over the days your promises were live. The share of days you turned up to the truth. This is the number. Everything else is weather.
A Receipt showing 41 kept, 19 owned and 0 hidden is a better month than one showing 55 kept and 5 hidden. If that feels wrong, sit with it — it is the single most important idea in this product.

Why it works as a thing to share
Nobody wants to post a habit tracker screenshot. Everybody will post this.
A tracker screenshot says "look how consistent I am", which is boasting, so most people do not post it. A Receipt says "here is what I actually managed, including the eleven days I did not", which is confession, and confession travels.
It also cannot be faked, and everyone can tell at a glance that it cannot be faked. That is what makes it interesting rather than annoying. It is the only shareable object in this category that costs the sharer something to post.
We are not going to pretend this is accidental. We designed the Receipt to be shared, because a service like this only works if it grows by people showing each other proof rather than by us buying ads. If that feels cynical, note that the way we made it shareable was to make it more honest, not less.
