Manifesto
Nine things we believe, written down so you can hold us to them.
If any of these stop being true about how Promise Keepr actually operates, that is a legitimate reason to cancel and to tell people why.
The beliefs
Roughly in order of how often we have to defend them.
Discipline is not a personality trait you were issued at birth.
It is a promise plus a witness. Take the witness away and almost nobody has it. Add the witness back and almost everybody does. The people you think have iron discipline mostly have a spouse, a team, a coach, a band, a deadline, or a dog.
Shame is the least efficient fuel ever discovered.
It works for about eleven days and then it burns the engine. Every red X, every broken streak animation, every 'you've lost your progress' is a small deposit of shame that will be withdrawn later with interest. There is no red anywhere in this product.
A promise you keep breaking is badly built.
It is not evidence about your character. It is evidence about the promise. Wrong size, wrong hour, wrong month of your life. Fix the promise. Trying harder has never fixed anything that a smaller promise would not have fixed faster.
The honest miss is worth more than the quiet win.
The day you did not do it and said so is the day the record became worth having. We would rather have a member at 60% who tells the truth than one at 95% who has learned which days to leave blank.
Nobody needs another notification.
You have been ignoring notifications since you were fourteen. You have not been ignoring a person who asked you a direct question. That is not a technology gap, it is the entire gap.
You cannot be accountable to something that cannot be disappointed.
An app is not disappointed. An app does not notice. An app cannot be embarrassed on your behalf, which is the specific social force doing all the work here. This is why we sell a person and give the software away with it.
A record you can edit is not a record.
Every tracker on earth lets you backfill last week. That single feature is why nobody trusts their own history. Sealed days lock. It costs us support tickets and it is worth every one of them.
Scarcity should be real or not mentioned.
There are 100 founding places because there are four Keepers and each holds 25 people. When it fills we will say so. There will never be a countdown timer on this website, and if you ever see one, we have lost the plot and you should leave.
We will publish our numbers, including the bad ones.
We have no outcome data yet, so we claim none. When we do, it goes up here whatever it says, with the churn and the people it did not work for. The honest dataset is the only thing we will ever own that somebody else cannot copy.
The only thing we are really selling is that somebody will notice.
Everything else — the Ledger, the seal, the Word Rate, the Receipt — exists to make noticing possible at a price that is not £300 a month.
Make your first promise.
One promise, in your own words. It takes about four minutes, and a real person writes back inside 48 hours.
First month refunded in full if you sealed your days and it did not work for you.
