Questions
Answered without the sales voice.
Including the ones that talk you out of buying, because we would rather lose the sale than the refund.
What exactly am I paying for?
A named human being who reads your promises, writes to you every week, rewrites the promise that keeps breaking, and notices on the day you go quiet. The software is included and is deliberately minimal. If you removed the human you would have a worse habit app; the human is the product.
What if I miss a day?
You seal it as owned and nothing bad happens. Your Word Rate is unaffected, because Word Rate measures the days you told the truth rather than the days you were perfect. Missing is expected and designed for. The only thing that counts against you is going silent.
What happens if I miss the same promise three times?
Your Keeper is notified that day and rewrites the promise smaller. You are not asked to explain yourself. We treat a promise broken three times as a design fault in the promise, not a fact about you.
How much time does it take?
About four minutes to write your first promise, an optional 20-minute call in week one, and roughly ten seconds a night after that. The weekly message from your Keeper takes as long as you want to spend on it.
Can I choose my own promises?
You must. You write them in your own words and you sign them. Your Keeper sharpens the wording and sizing, but the subject is always yours. A promise somebody else chose for you is a chore.
Why only three promises?
Because four is where people start failing at all of them. When one of your three becomes automatic you earn a fourth slot. Until then the cap is hard, and yes, people argue with us about this constantly.
Is this therapy or mental health treatment?
No. Keepers are trained accountability coaches, not clinicians. They will not diagnose or treat anything. If something comes up that needs a professional, your Keeper will say so plainly and help you find the right kind of support.
Does it work for ADHD?
Several of the design choices are things people with ADHD commonly say help: external accountability, a hard cap of three, same-day nudges, and rewriting rather than repeating. But we have no data of our own yet and we will not claim a clinical benefit we have not measured.
Who can see my Ledger?
Your Keeper, and one operations person if there is a support issue. Nobody else. There is no feed, no leaderboard and no friends list. Your Receipt is shared only if you choose to share it.
Can I edit a day after I have sealed it?
No, and neither can we. Yesterday stays open until 10am in case you fell asleep, then it locks. That constraint is the only reason the Receipt means anything.
What if I do not get on with my Keeper?
Tell us and we will move you. No explanation needed, no offence taken. The match matters more than the manners and we would much rather you switched than quietly disengaged.
Can I pause?
Yes, once a quarter for up to a month. Your Ledger waits. Some weeks are the wrong weeks for three promises and pretending otherwise is how people quit entirely.
How do I cancel?
One email, or one message to your Keeper. It takes effect at the end of the billing period, there is no exit flow designed to trap you, and nobody will ring you to ask why.
Tell me about the refund.
If you seal your days for a full month and honestly feel it did nothing, email us within seven days of that month ending and we refund it in full. We ask no questions and make no counter-offer. It applies to your first month on the programme.
Why is it £39 when apps are free?
Because a person reads your Ledger every week and writes to you, and that person is paid. A free app costs nothing because nobody is on the other end. The relevant comparison is not an app; it is the £150 to £400 a month a private coach charges for something with more contact time.
Why are there only 100 founding places?
Four Keepers, 25 members each. That is the whole reason. When it is full there is a waiting list rather than a countdown timer, and if a place opens because somebody cancelled we will say that is what happened.
Does the price go up later?
The founding price is locked for as long as you stay subscribed. New members after the founding cohort pay £59. If you cancel and come back, you come back at the current price.
Do you use AI?
For internal admin, yes, in the same way any small company does. Not for the part you are paying for. Your weekly message is written by your Keeper after reading your Ledger. If we ever change that, this answer changes first and we will email every member.
What data do you keep and for how long?
Your promises, your sealed days, your messages with your Keeper, and your billing record. We keep it while you are a member and for six months afterwards unless you ask us to delete it sooner, which you can do by email at any time. Full detail is in the privacy notice.
Do you have results yet?
No, and we are not going to invent any. Promise Keepr is new. We have no outcome data, no testimonials from strangers and no case studies. When we do have data we will publish it including the churn and the people it did not work for.
Who is behind this?
Calvin Kudzai, in London, along with four Keepers. It is bootstrapped and small, which is why the founding cohort is 100 people rather than 10,000.
What if it just does not work for me?
Then take the refund and go, and please tell us why on the way out. A service like this only gets better from the people it failed, and we would rather have that than your subscription.
Something not answered here? Email hello@promisekeepr.com and a person will reply. If the question is good it ends up on this page.
Make your first promise.
One promise, in your own words. It takes about four minutes, and a real person writes back inside 48 hours.
First month refunded in full if you sealed your days and it did not work for you.
